The graduation ceremony for the academic year 2013/2014 was held on Wednesday 25 June 2014 at 5.00 pm. The graduating students entered Herman Schneller Hall in procession followed by the head of the academic department Mrs. Rita Shakrina, the head of the vocational department Mr. Joseph Bou Simaan, and the director, Rev. George D. Haddad. The president of the municipal council in Khirbet Kanafar, Mr. Tony Bou Izzeh, was the guest-speaker of the ceremony. The president of the Parents' Committee, Mr. Mohammad Taha was also attending with other members of his committee. The ceremony began with the Lebanese national anthem. It was followed with words of welcome and a prayer by the director. Mr. Tony Bou Izzeh then delivered a meaningful address to the graduating students which reflected his friendship and wonderful support of JLSS. The heads of both the academic and vocational departments delivered their addresses to the graduating students. The President of the Alumni Association in Lebanon who was supposed to deliver a greeting to explain the meaning of the gift (USB Memory) the association was presenting to the graduating students presented a long speech. The director gave a short address to the graduating classes thanking Mr. Tony Bou Izzeh for his address and wonderful support of JLSS. Yousef Shakrina representing Grade 11, and Hassan Fares representing the DS3 classes delivered messages of gratitude to Schneller School and their teachers. A slightly long PowerPoint presentation of photos of Academic students from their very young years until the present time was presented. It was very nice and the Academic students and their parents loved it, but it revealed the unintentional mistake of not including the vocational students. The director apologized to the graduating vocational students and their parents for that mistake. The certificates were then distributed to the graduating students. A reception followed to honor the graduating students and their parents.
