Founder's Day Yearly Lunch Held on 1 November 2008

Although Schneller Founder's day is on November 11, the JLSS yearly lunch to celebrate this very important occasion was held on November 1st this year in Macheref Restaurant - Saghbine. As Rev. Dr. Habib Badr and Rev. George Haddad are both travelling to Germany soon we had to hold the yearly lunch ten days early. Rev. Dr. Habib Badr, Chairman of the Schneller Board, President of the Union of the National Evangelical Churches in Lebanon, and Pastor in Charge of the National Evangelical Church of Beirut, drove from Beirut to be with the JLSS staff on this very important occasion. The presence of the Krehs who were visiting Lebanon brought extra joy to the occasion, although they had to drive to the airport right after lunch to travel back to Germany. Also present was Mr. Melhim Zarzour, President of the Municipal Council in Khirbet Kanafar, and his wife, Mr. Elias Haddad, JLSS lawyer, and his wife, and the JLSS teachers and members of staff. After enjoying the delicious Lebanese food it was time for traditional Dabkeh (Lebanese folk dancing). The sound system did not fail this year as we were in a different restaurant from that of last year, so JLSS staff enjoyed the food, music, and dancing.
