JLSS Celebrates its 150th Founder's Day & Lebanese Independence

 Our school celebrated its 150th Founder's Day and Lebanese Independence Day on Friday 12 November 2010. The program started at 1.00 PM with a march of the flag, the Lebanese national anthem, and an opening prayer.
The program included music, singing, poetry, dance, drama, and a PowerPoint presentation.
The program was well prepared. The children and students performed exceptionally well reflecting their creativity and happiness. It was very clear that so much hard work was put in preparation. The decoration of the stage was creative and beautiful. The compositions of our Music teacher, Mr. Joseph Sleilati, for the occasion were beautiful and very well performed by the students. The stage productions were equally nice. The dances were well rehearsed, the gymnastics show was impressive, and the whole program was a great joy to everyone.
Both the vocational and academic departments participated in the program.
On this historic occasion of the 150th Anniversary of founding Schneller School in Jerusalem, alumnus George Eid Eid presented a second sculpture of his to our school. It was placed in one of our gardens. It is a beautiful representation of a leaf.  During the program he read a poem in Lebanese Arabic which he wrote for this occasion. We thank George Eid Eid for this wonderful gift, and for his friendship, support, and beautiful art in poetry and sculpture.
We also thank all our students and teachers for the beautiful program they prepared and performed. We especially thank Mrs. Rita Chakrina, the Program Coordinator of the Academic Department, Mr. Elie Farhat, the coordinator for extra-curricular activities, Mr. Joseph Sleilati, our Music teacher, Mr. Michael Karam, our sports' teacher, and all the people who worked very hard to make the program such a wonderful success.
